Rascal’s Roadshow: The Grand Canyon

Rascal enjoying the view. |
The RV park is bustling with fellow travelers, many accompanied by their
furry companions. We see plenty of dogs enjoying walks through Trailer Village,
and Rascal is no exception—he gets several daily strolls, plus some outdoor
time with the kitties. We travel with portable fencing panels (great Amazon buy), and Todd sets up a cozy outdoor area at each RV park we visit.
Panther and Fuzzbutt demand their morning fresh-air time, both are very vocal about it! They always attract curious onlookers, and
the number one question we get is: Do they ever try to jump out?

Always on the lookout for pretty birds. |
For Fuzzbutt, the answer is a solid no—partly because he’s, well… a little on the chonky side. Let’s just say agility isn’t his strong suit (and yes, he’s on a diet). Panther, on the other hand, is our little daredevil. He has made two great escapes—both times when the fence was too close to a tree. He’d leap onto a branch, then immediately regret his life choices, meowing dramatically until Todd came to the rescue. Lesson learned! We always sit outside with them and never leave them unattended.
This time around, their outdoor adventures have been brief—the morning temps here have been in the 30s, with a chilly breeze. They beg to go out, last about five minutes, then demand to be whisked back inside to their warm, cushy trailer life. In warmer weather, it’s the exact opposite—we practically have to drag them back in!

Always a stunning view. |

Living our best lives. Please note the leash AND a pink poop bag tied on. We always clean up after Rascal and keep him safe on leash. |
🐾 Keep pets leashed
at all times.
During this visit, I looked into nearby animal shelters to feature on the
blog, but the closest ones are in Flagstaff—about 95 miles away. A bit too far
for a quick visit, but I’ll be on the lookout for shelters at our next stop!
What I did find during my search was that there is a kennel right here in the park! For
visitors hoping to hike, visit the museum, El Tovar Hotel, restaurants, or any
other place where your furry companion isn’t allowed, the kennel is a great
option.

I didn't explore inside the kennels, but here are a few photos of the outside. |
