Rascal’s Roadshow ððū
We made our reservations in
January for a March stay at Canyon Trail RV Park in Boulder City, Nevada. The
process was easy online, though interestingly, this was the first park in our
two years of travel where we had to pay through PayPal. Our four-night stay
cost $258.00 for a nice pull-thru site near the middle of the park.
Check-in was quick and easy, and I had a pleasant visit with the ladies at registration. The next day, I met another employee who had her adorable dog, Presley, with her. Presley was a sweet little girl, full of wiggles and happy energy. ðķð

The park offers a solar-heated pool ☀️ð and a propane-heated hot tub, but with temperatures ranging from the 30s to 50s, we opted to stay dry. Todd checked out the laundry facilities but discovered they don’t allow washing of bedding—which, of course, was exactly what he had planned to wash. No worries, though! Just a couple of blocks away, we found a great laundromat called Bubbles. We had already taken our clothes there earlier in the week and, honestly, we’ve become spoiled by using wash-and-fold services at laundromats along our journey. It saves time and means no hunting for quarters!

Worth it! |
We really enjoyed our stay at this RV park and definitely recommend it to fellow travelers. It seemed to have a mix of long-term guests and overnight visitors, but the park was wonderfully quiet both day and night—no traffic noise at all. Dog owners will appreciate the potty areas throughout the park and the fenced doggy park, which Rascal absolutely loved. ð So many new smells to sniff! They also provide doggy bag stations, so no excuses for not picking up after your pups. ðĶī

Todd spent a day fishing ðĢ at Veterans Memorial Park and Lake Mead, though luck wasn’t on his side this time. No catches, but he’s never discouraged and will try again at our next stop!

One of the highlights of our trip was an amazing meal in downtown Boulder City at Chinitas Tapas & Sushi (147 S. Water Street). ðĢðŪ I had asked Todd to pick a restaurant, and since he always wants sushi (seriously, always), I asked him to find a place with options for me too. Enter Chinitas, a fusion restaurant combining Japanese and Mexican cuisine. Sounds like a crazy combo, right? But trust me, it totally works! ð

A couple of interior views of Chintas. We arrived just as they opened so we beat the crowds. |
Usually, my only non-fishy choices at sushi places are beef or chicken teriyaki, but here, I had so many delicious options! I started with Elote Ribs—charred corn ribs topped with cotija cheese, yuzu mayo, togarashi, tajin, and cilantro. ð―ð§ They brought out a whole stack, so most went home for the next day (lucky me!). For my entree, I had the Chino Taquitos, and everything was absolutely delicious. Meanwhile, Todd happily devoured three sushi rolls. ðĢ

Taquitos and Ribs! |
Our hostess, Kat, was a delight and even brought me extra lime slices, suggesting I squeeze them over my ribs and taquitos. ð She wasn’t wrong—it was AHHH-MAZING! ð Our waitress, Isabella O, was also fantastic—attentive and fun to chat with. Between the great food and lively atmosphere, this place gets five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and two enthusiastic thumbs up from us! ðð

...and the fishy stuff. |
We had planned to take a paddle boat cruise on Lake Mead, but the day before, we got a call canceling due to expected high winds. ðŽ️ They were right—the wind was intense that day. A bummer, but hey, things happen!

Todd and Rascal on the shore of Lake Mead. If you look really hard you can see the red paddles on the paddle boat we were going to cruise on. |
All in all, our time in Boulder City was a fantastic experience, and we met some truly wonderful people along the way. If you’re ever in the area, we definitely recommend both Canyon Trail RV Park and Chinitas Tapas & Sushi—happy travels! ✨ð
